Vision

Cycling in Lithuania is one of the most widely practised and popular sports, able to consistently take pride in high-performance athletes and specialists, professional teams that meet the requirements of the Union Cycliste Internationale, and strong and competitive national teams.

The Lithuanian Cycling Federation is one of the most efficiently operating sports organisations in the country, effectively ensuring the principles of fair competition, proper development of competition practice, appropriate athlete supervision, classification and ranking, gender equality principles, supporting and promoting the progress of sports clubs, athletes, other personnel and competitions, and advocating for compliance with the anti-doping code and the principles of fair play in sport.

To ensure the most effective governance of cycling, creating favourable conditions for all categories of cycling representatives – athletes, coaches, sports club and team managers and staff, organisers, other specialists, as well as sponsors and spectators.

Integrity – sporting competition conducted in accordance with the rules established and recognised by the International Olympic Committee and the Union Cycliste Internationale, as well as the best accumulated practice. Development of a sustainable competition culture, creation of a successful system of criteria and rules, an appropriate system of penalties, assistance and consultation for competition organisers to ensure fair competition. Strengthening of the refereeing institution.

Professionalism – deep knowledge and acquired skills of cycling sport participants, application of modern training methods, competition management tools and technologies, an appropriate results recording system, ranking and cyclist licensing, the ability to make maximum use of scientific and technological knowledge, skills, working tools and sports equipment in practice, the pursuit and encouragement of continuous improvement, a proper system and environment for the development and motivation of specialists and athletes, effective sports club management, and continuous professional development of members of the cycling community.

Attractiveness to participants, sponsors and spectators – large numbers of sports clubs (teams) and cyclists who train continuously and participate in competitions, appropriate competition, a motivation system for participants, professional communication covering all modern information dissemination tools, increasing and maintaining the interest of spectators and participants in cycling.

Safety in sport – safety during competitions and training. Development of best safety practices, standardisation of safety regulations for competitions and training for individual athletes and groups. Promotion of cycling as a safe sport, shaping public opinion, and education of other road users. An effective anti-doping programme.
